This collection consists of petitions and writs concerning court cases in the Inferior Court of Wilkes County, in which Robert Toombs was Plaintiff's Attorney. The Writs of Assumpsit's include promissory notes; the judgments are on the back of the writs. Also included are three letters from Toombs: to E.A. Palmer, Jr., 1859, stating that he has received Palmer's note; to Johnson (last name only), 1861, notifying that Col. David Hubbard goes forth as Indian Commissioner; and to Captain S.W. Mays, 1871, regarding their settlement at Augusta.
