This collection contains two 16mm film reels of the approximately 13 min film, Savannah, the Waking Giant. The film was commissioned by the Savannah District Authority and produced by George M. Kirkland and International Sound Films, Inc. Atlanta, Georgia. These two copies of the film were distributed through Sterling Films, USA, Inc. The film promotes Savannah as the ideal location for an industrial business to locate to, highlighting the advantages of the Port of Savannah, the beauty of the Historic District, other business that have expanded since moving to Savannah, local utilities, civic and cultural programs, low cost of business, and the weather.
