This scrapbook was composed by Otis Ashmore for the Georgia Historical Society and presented to the society in September 1927. It contains newspaper clippings, maps, and drawings of the old ruins in McIntosh County, Georgia and an account of the Battle of Bloody Marsh. Ashmore began this project following a trip in July 1912 to ruins along the coast of Georgia and to Fort Frederica, Georgia, the site of the Battle of Bloody Marsh which occurred in 1742. Ashmore used an old astronomy book for his scrapbook. There is one newspaper article by Otis Ashmore, from the Savannah Morning News, September 1, 1912, about the Battle of Bloody Marsh. The other newspaper articles appear to be from around 1927.
