The papers in this collection are all photocopies; the courses of the originals are unknown. The first item is a poem written on the occasion of Ellis's arrival in Georgia 1757; it is signed 'Americanus.' The other items include a permit given by the King in Council for Ellis to leave Georgia during the summer, a letter to Ellis from Edmond Atkin at Fort Moore regarding Indian affairs in Georgia and South Carolina, and two talks Ellis gave to members of the Creek Nation.
