This collection consists of letters to John and William W. Renwick, written by friends and family members, 1834-1858. Two letters, written by Samuel P. Pressley to John Renwick, describe Pressley's teaching position at the University of Georgia and his impressions of the university, he also expresses his friendship and mentions that he is writing articles for the Southern Christian Herald under the name 'Augustine.' Other correspondents include: Daniel S. Glenn; Ebenezer Bothwell; and J.T. Bothwell, who writes of goods purchased from Bothwell & Smith, the price of meat and cotton, and mentions that money is scarce. Many of the letters contain family news.
