This collection contains John Maclean's typewritten memoir from 2002 about the anecdotes he gathered from the attendees at the 57th reunion of the 400th Field Artillery Battalion. Maclean was interested in hearing about his uncle John H. Maclean's experience in World War II and to specifically find out what happened on July 21, 1944, the day he was killed. Maclean later gave the manuscript to a family friend, F. Wylly "Sonny" Clarke, who donated it to Georgia Historical Society.
