This collection consists of photocopies of documents pertaining to Georgia's colonial history. Included are items of Fort King George, the charter for incorporating the colony, Thomas Christie's notes on the voyage of the first settlers to Georgia, a petition by Thomas Stephens on behalf of the people of Georgia, a treasury report on payments of troops, a first-hand account of the siege on Savannah, and an undated interview with Native Americans regarding their friendship with the English rather than the French. Also included is a report on the mutiny at Fort Andrews that documents in detail the attempt of several soldiers to kill Gen. James Oglethorpe. Philip Minis is mentioned in a number of the documents.
All of the papers in this collection are photocopies; unless otherwise noted, the originals are in the Essex Record Office in London.
