This collection consists of photocopies of the Rules or By-Laws of Solomon's Lodge, undated and signed by members of the Lodge, and a letter form William young in Savannah to 'Worshipful Brother,' dated June 11, 1771 (the date on the letter was incorrectly recorded as '5771'). In the letter, Young requests that Noble Jones be appointed Grand master in Georgia. William Young was Worshipful Master of Solomon's Lodge.
The collection also includes 16 rolls of microfilm. Included are minutes, 1756-1956; an Act of Congress and miscellaneous correspondence relating to the return of the minute book from the Library of Congress to Savannah in 1926; a historical sketch of Freemasonry in Georgia, 1733-1800; a sketch of the first mason initiated in Georgia; the history of the Grand Lodge of Georgia; the minutes of the Finance Committee, 1800-1806; and papers from the Solomon's Lodge Bicentennial Celebration, 1734-1934.
The materials were microfilmed by the Genealogical Society of Salt Lake City, Utah and the Department of Archives and History, Georgia, in 1959.
